When parents enquire about martial arts, one of the biggest concerns we hear is:
“What if my child doesn’t enjoy their first class?”
I’d like to share a story.
Meet young GIANT student Anthony B.

He is a student who went home crying after his first class because he felt he couldn’t complete 10 pushups correctly, yet he and his parents never gave up and in summary he grew to become a Black Belt and NSW State Champion grappler in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Has also competed in Kickboxing and Amatuer MMA.

There are hundreds of stories like this from students at GIANT.
To think this child, almost a teenager who walked into GIANT Martial Arts for their very first lesson, cried after class….many people would assume martial arts just wasn’t for them.
But something incredible happened.
They came back.
Then they came back again.
Week after week, they grew a little more confident, a little more resilient, and a little more comfortable challenging themselves.
Fast forward to today…
That same teenager is now a State Champion.

The medal isn’t the part of the story that inspires us the most.
It’s the courage they showed by walking back through our doors after believing they couldn’t do it.
At GIANT Martial Arts, we don’t expect kids or teenagers to be confident on day one.
We help them become confident over time.
If you’re looking for an activity that builds resilience, discipline, confidence and friendships, we’d love the opportunity to help your teenager begin their own journey.
Every champion starts somewhere.
Sometimes…
It starts with simply coming back for a second class.
We hope to welcome your family to GIANT Martial Arts to create a champion…AT LIFE!
